With every innovative idea, people become excited and hyped for the next big thing. We research it, line up for it, buy it, and immediately love it or hate it. Sometimes it lasts forever, sometimes it doesn't. These are 5 technologies that are on the way out.
1. 3-D
3-D was so big when it first came out back in the 1800's ... wait hold on (this site. Finish writing the article ... hmph questioning my fact checking ... oh the mic's still on ... umm bye!!! ") Sorry about that. We're going to skip ahead some years though and talk about the 3-D we're all familiar with. Remember when Avatar came out in 3-D and people went nuts. Then remember all those other movies that came out in 3-D and made you go "the movie was good but there wasn't enough 3-D to merit this $30 ticket." 3-D got big everywhere from movies to TV's to even handheld devices like cell phones and handheld game systems. The reason this technology is on the way out is for the fact that we don't want anything on our face to see mediocre 3-D. The glasses are usually uncomfortable and tend to make you dizzy after long periods of time. The 3-D techniques that don't require the glasses are even worse. For now, movies are still coming out in 3-D but expect the 3-D trend to fizzle out in a couple years.
"is that right? " " Yea just check 2. Bullet Time Camera
Remember this scene from The Matrix? Remember how cool it was. Bullets going everywhere while the camera pans in a 360 and we enjoy every cinematic moment of it. It got so popular it made its way into video games like True Crimes and Max Payne. Now when was the next time you saw it? Can't remember can you? Well the good people over at Cracked.com know. It was at the red Carpet for E!. Yeah... that's what it got reduced to. But nothing beats the last entry.
3. CD Anything
CD's were a hot commodity and now they're well not. Everyone loved the sound quality of CD's over cassettes. You could also burn your CD onto your computer and burn it onto another disk in case the original got damaged. But now who still uses CD's? You can download music straight from the internet and put it onto an mp3 player. You can download albums from itunes or (illegally) from other programs.
