So Sean posted a blog recently about fashion trends from ten ago and the evolution of those fashions. I decided to do technology's evolution. Tech also deserves to be mocked for the early developments its made too (I'm looking at you AOL Dial Up).
Speaking of AOL ...
Let's start with the thing that made this site possible; The internet. The internet has always been about sharing information. It's first incarnation was meant for information sharing between doctors. Then someone had the bright idea to use it to share things with ordinary people as well. Then came dial up. Then we decided to speed up the internet (so we could watch porn without waiting 2 hours to load a 5 second clip). Fast forward to our DSL and Fiber optic systems and we have the internet we all know and love.
TV's
TV's have been around for a while. Like awhile. 1927 to be exact. The first TV's were small and in black and white. As technology improved TV's became larger, they broadcast in color, they added more channels, and they began having 24 hour broadcasts. Then we had the idea to make these huge boxes into slim plastic boxes. Now, almost every person in the US has a flat screen TV. TV's can now connect to the internet, stream media, and display other devices.
Computers
Those old computers boy were they big. How big were they? Big enough to fit your mama ... zing! (Just kidding. Your mom is a nice lady.) Old computers would take up rooms and had less memory and processing power than a calculator. (Like your mom ... OK that's enough of that. Sorry). Fast forward to the 90's where computers could now fit on your desk. Then we fast forward to today where we have tablets and phones that are pretty much computers.
